Ethernet 1.0 is a convenient and lightweight tool allowing non-tech users to easily change network settings. The settings configurable within the software include IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, DNS 1 & 2 and Static v's Automatic IP assignment. How useful is it? Many PC problems require network settings to be altered for testing purposes or for a user to join a network successfully. Navigating a PC to find network settings can be daunting for many users, especially if their only reason for doing so is to turn their PC from a Static (manual) IP address to an automatic (DHCP) one, as requested by their remote IT support advisor.
